A bit about me
I’ve had the pleasure for many years of creating photographs that celebrate individuals, their work, their families and friendships, the milestones in their lives and everyday moments in between.
Much more of my work these days is the result of following my curiosity in the natural world. I have a personal practice of mindful, meditative photography, of making art purely for the joy of it. It’s something I do almost every day.
Sometimes that means simply capturing lovely details and compositions that grab my attention - a leaf illuminated by sunlight or reflections on water. I also have fun experimenting with techniques like intentional camera movement and slow shutter speed, using my camera to play with light, color and form. The resulting abstract images possess an energy that fascinates me. I’ve been fortunate that some of my art has been included in juried shows and found their way onto the walls of collectors.
The glorious Pacific Northwest has been my home since 1990. I'm a gardener of flowers and food, a mother of two phenomenal adult children, and I work for 21 Acres Center for Local Food and Sustainable Living, an education non-profit and agroecological farm focused on climate solutions in Woodinville, Washington.
Protecting our planet and all who live here is of vital importance to me, so a portion of my fees are donated to organizations whose missions support environmental and/or social justice causes.
I live and work on Coast Salish and Stillaguamish land.
